Back to Life creator Daisy Haggard is back with a new series – and will be bringing Bella Ramsey with her.

The duo lead new Channel 4 thriller, Maya, which has just wrapped filming in Scotland.

First look photos show the pair as a mother-daughter duo adjusting to life after being forced to enter the Witness Protection Programme.

With their lives in danger, single mum Anna and her teen daughter Maya trade in their life in London for a new beginning in rural Scotland.

The move means they even have to leave Anna’s parents behind as they adopt new identities.

However, they cannot run forever, with two hitmen, Benji and Ted on their tail and determined to ruin them both, and a mysterious figure from their past, Bobby, proving to still be a looming presence in their life.

The six-episode series will air in 2026, and is created and directed by Haggard.

Joining them in the cast is an all-star cast including Tobias Menzies (F1, The Crown), Ben Chaplin (September 5, The Dig), Raphel Famotibe (The Night Manager S2, Wale), Josie Walker (Kneecap, Andor), Harriet Walter (Succession, Ted Lasso), Stuart Bowman (Dept. Q, Rebus) and Tom Courtenay (Quartet, 45 Years).

Kiran Sonia Sawar (Slow Horses, True Love), Serena Manteghi (The Diplomat, Mrs Wilson), Archie Backhouse (Strategic Love Play, Farm Hall), Paul Blair (Outpost, Outlaw King), Sonny Poon Tip (Industry, Andor), Finlay Shack (Dept Q), Max Fincham (The Tower, The Witness), Ash Hunter (Bridgerton, Harlots), Harry Hadden-Paton (Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale, Twisters), Tori Allen-Martin (Here We Go, London Kills) and Isabele Derosa (The Bombing of Pan Am 103) round out the cast.
