‘Wednesday’ season 2 begins filming with ‘Doctor Who’ and ‘Addams Family’ legends joining cast

Wednesday season 2 has officially begun production – with a whole host of new faces joining the cast.

Netflix announced the news with fan favourite Thing delivering the scripts to the cast’s dressing room doors, ending with Jenna Ortega, who plays the crime-fighting leading lady.

The first episode title has been announced as ‘Here We Woe Again’ in keeping with the show’s creepy, kooky, mysterious and spooky undertones.

This year, it seems the Addams Family will be playing a bigger role in Wednesday’s adventures, with Catherine Zeta-Jones (who plays Morticia), Luis Guzmán (Gomez) and Isaac Ordonez (Pugsley) all being boosted to series regulars, alongside and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, who plays Richie Santiago.

Joining the cast is: Steve Buscemi (The Big Lebowski, Boardwalk Empire), Billie Piper (Doctor Who, Scoop, I Hate Suzie), Evie Templeton (Return to Silent Hill, Lord of Misrule), Owen Painter (Tiny Beautiful Things, The Handmaid’s Tale) and Noah Taylor (Law & Order: Organized Crime, Park Avenue).

There will also be a host of guest stars including Christopher Lloyd (Addams Family, Back to the Future), Joanna Lumley (Fool Me Once, Absolutely Fabulous), Thandiwe Newton (Westworld, Crash), Frances O’Connor (The Missing, The Twelve), Haley Joel Osment (The Kominsky Method, The Sixth Sense), Heather Matarazzo (The Princess Diaries, Scream) and Joonas Suotamo.

Most of whom have their own connection to horrors and thrillers. Lloyd notably played Uncle Fester in The Addams Family and Addams Family Values.

Matarazzo appeared in Hostel 2 as well as Scream V and VI, while Haley Joel Osment had a breakout role when he was younger in The Sixth Sense alongside Bruce Willis.

A release date for season two is yet to be confirmed.
