The legendary Jim Henson’s life and career will be explored in a new Disney+ documentary film, Jim Henson: Idea Man.

Following the creative’s work from his early years as a puppeteer, though to international success with Sesame Street, The Muppet Show and Labyrinth among others, the film will speak to those who worked closely with him, and celebrating a unique mind that shaped the world of children’s film and TV.

Helmed by Ron Howard, those who are interviewed include Rita Moreno and Jennifer Connelly.

Featuring unprecedented access to Jim’s personal archives, the film aims to o the worldwide success of Sesame Street, The Muppet Show, and beyond. Filmmaker Ron Howard ‘bring us a fascinating and insightful look at a complex man whose boundless imagination inspired the world’.

Jim Henson: Idea Man will premiere May 31 on Disney+.
