Netflix has treated fans to a new, updated look at Kate and Anthony ahead of Bridgerton season three.

The couple, played by Simone Ashley and Jonathan Bailey, took centre stage during season two, and are now settling into wedded bliss as the focus turns to a different Bridgerton sibling.

At the latest Ton ball, Anthony is tasked with keeping an eye out on his younger sister, Francesca, as she makes her social scene debut.

But when she wants a moment alone, he seizes the opportunity to let his hair down and dance with his wife.

As new leading lady Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) looks on alone, the collective at the party dance – and Anthony can’t resist stealing a kiss from his wife in front of the crowd.

In the upcoming season of the steamy period drama, it is the turn of Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) to find his love match – and it’s a lot closer to home than he thinks.

The official synopsis reads: “Penelope Featherington has finally given up on her long-held crush on Colin Bridgerton after hearing his disparaging words about her last season. She has, however, decided it’s time to take a husband, preferably one who will provide her with enough independence to continue her double life as Lady Whistledown, far away from her mother and sisters.”

“But lacking in confidence, Penelope’s attempts on the marriage mart fail spectacularly,” the synopsis continues.

“Meanwhile, Colin has returned from his summer travels with a new look and a serious sense of swagger. But he’s disheartened to realise that Penelope, the one person who always appreciated him as he was, is giving him the cold shoulder.

“Eager to win back her friendship, Colin offers to mentor Penelope in the ways of confidence to help her find a husband this season. But when his lessons start working a little too well, Colin must grapple with whether his feelings for Penelope are truly just friendly.

“Complicating matters for Penelope is her rift with Eloise (Claudia Jessie), who has found a new friend in a very unlikely place, while Penelope’s growing presence in the ton makes it all the more difficult to keep her Lady Whistledown alter ego a secret.”

Bridgerton season 3 will be released in two parts. Part one launches May 16th and part two is released on June 13th.
