‘The Beautiful Game’: Trailer and everything you need to know

Football has long been known as The Beautiful Game – and a new Netflix film is about to show the sport at its most glorious.

Bill Nighy leads the cast about a homeless football team with big dreams to win a championship in Rome – and from the trailer alone expect laughs and a few tears.

It’s based around the work of the real-life Homeless World Cup Foundation, which was established in 2001.

The Foundation’s mission is to use football to support and inspire people who are homeless to change their own lives through the game, while also changing perceptions and attitudes towards people who are experiencing homelessness.

‘The Beautiful Game’ season 2 plot synopsis:

According to the official synopsis: “Mal is the manager of England’s homeless football team, taking his players to Rome with the hope of being crowned champions of the Homeless World Cup, a global street soccer tournament.

“At the last minute he decides to bring with them a talented striker Vinny, who could give them a real chance at winning, but only if he’s ready to let go of his past and become part of the team.”

The Beautiful Game is a film based on second chances – where everything’s to play for.

The Beautiful Game will launch in the UK in select cinemas on March 22.

It will become available on Netflix internationally from March 29.
